Rather then hit the water today for some of those big CRAPPIE slabs, I decided to get the rig ready for the upcoming opener and the upcoming season.

Spent the afternoon putting my new Extreme Angler Interstate Battery in and hooking it up, washing the boat and getting everything ready, connected the fish finders, started her up and she sounds great. Can't wait for the first trip of the year. Gonna happen real soon. 8)

omg... the jealousy...
since i don't plan on owning a boat any time soon, i don't have much knowledge in them, but damn... your ride looks good.
sponsored by rapala? haha

every single time when i'm in a crappy rental boat and one of these things zoom by, i always wonder how nice it'd be to have one and whatnot.

question: what do you tow it with?
from what i see in the pic, looks like a 4 door sedan?
how much does the boat, motor, trailer and etc weigh? what's the towing capacity of your vehicle?
i'm just wondering cause my gf got a new car which has a towing capacity of 2000 lbs. i'm thinking it's possible to get a hitch and pull a light boat/trailer?
she's picking it up next week the day before kawartha opener...and i'm already getting all these ideas!

I tow it with an AUDI A6. Towing capacity is just over 2000 lbs, not sure of the exact number, plenty for the boat and trailer. The weight of everything is just under 1000 lbs. Not sure of the exact number. The 4 wheel drive is great for gettting up the inclines of some of the long launches at certain lakes, Rice Lake included.

For the most part it goes into the Lake at the beginning of the year and comes out at the end of the season, with a few trips in between.

You could definately pull a 16 foot boat with that Subaru, it has plenty of power.

No wax job, just a quick wash and rinse.

It's still fairly new, hasn't even been broken in yet. 8) It is a 2008 model that was purchased towards the end of August last year. Got a sweet aZZ deal on it. 2008 Merc, 20hp, which is plenty for me for Rice Lake, since I am not a tourney angler. 2 Lowrance fish finders, one at the console and one on the casting deck at the front or at the rear.

The same model this year was over $2000 more at the Spring Fishing and Boat Show.

I do tend to take care of most of my stuff.

That is awsome you can't beat a great deal, and still get what you want. Is this your first boat or just a replacement for an old one?

I had a piece of crap aluminum before this one, but I didn't even consider it a boat. Had no trailer and it had a crappy 9.9hp on it, so you could say this is my first. First of many I hope. Future boats will hopefully get bigger and better.

Dirk, gotta love sweet deals, I got a good deal too was $1000 more at this years show. I guess since the US exchange rate is higher this year so are most new boats. I can't wait to upgrade myself....everytime I find a good deal I put my boat for sale

Oh wow,,,

Both the boat+trailer= under 1000 pounds? Wow... I for sure thought that it would weight lot more than that.

By the way, how much do boat insurance cost you yearly?
