OK so I'm new to Ontario and I'm taking up fishing. When I was a kid I fished in a river I lived by in BC. Out here is so much better. Last night I pulled 7 decent sized Perch and 1 nice Bass.

I was using a minnow on a sinker and reeling it in nice and slow. It worked like a charm.

I have heard there are Catfish and other types of fish there. Anyone have any tips on how to catch something other than perch?

where are u fishing? and really, any cast could bring you something different. if u want carp, use corn. spoons in the fall will net ya salmon and trout. spinnerbaits can get ya bass and pike, worms will get ya gobies, panfish and catfish.

For bass, I seem to have most of my luck anywhere, including bayfront, with a silver trick stick (plastic worm) hooked up wacky style.
