Steelhead and Salmon forum rules

  • Specific Spots: Disclosing the presence of fish in a specific pool, upstream from the mouth of any river or tributary is not permitted in the publicly viewable general discussion forum. For example, you can say "I had a great day fishing yesterday on Wilmot Creek", but we do not encourage members to say "The fish are stacked up in the pool at the CNR bridge". The latter statement should be relegated to the Tier 1 and Tier 2 reports sections, away from public view.
  • Lining Debate: "Lining", "snagging" or "flossing" fish is a hot-button topic that often ruins otherwise productive conversations. In order to keep the general discussion forum clean, helpful and productive, it is the policy of OFF that any and all "lining" conversation/debate be conducted in the "Salmonid Insanity" sub-forum.
  • Forum Etiquette: Simple - Be polite, keep it civil. All personal attacks, insults, inflammatory remarks, threats, racist remarks, trolling and otherwise rude and/or immature behaviour are strictly forbidden and will be met with disciplinary action up to and including permanent banning.

hahaha....yeah i think there is being some leg pulling happening! I doubt the salmon are in full fledge spawning/migratory mode yet. Generally colder weather and cold rain gets them moving in. There probably is some starting to make their move. We are going to try out for a few hours this afternoon near the mouth.

I fish when i can...when i can...as much as i can. FISH ON!!

Well we decided to go give it a shot tonight near the mouth. My buddy picked up 3 pike this morning so we figure we'd give it a go. We went at 6 pm and stayed till 11. No salmon or trout, just 2 tiny cats. There was a guy there that we were talking to though, and he was saying that the run has started and his buddies have been picking up some salmon in angus on the notty.

I fish when i can...when i can...as much as i can. FISH ON!!

Went at the Notty's mouth yesterday evening, there was almost no action, excepting one nice piece of salmon caught by a funny Italian gentleman, around 6PM. Stayed longer but still nothing.

Went up friday afternoon and came home monday around noon. No signs of any salmon until sunday i lost one. Nothing again after that til monday was standing up on the cliff just before we were leaving and watched about 25 salmon fly up the rapids. Ran down and tossed a few lines and lost a couple. Had to leave so couldnt stay, im sure we would have landed a few if we had more time.
