Steelhead and Salmon forum rules

  • Specific Spots: Disclosing the presence of fish in a specific pool, upstream from the mouth of any river or tributary is not permitted in the publicly viewable general discussion forum. For example, you can say "I had a great day fishing yesterday on Wilmot Creek", but we do not encourage members to say "The fish are stacked up in the pool at the CNR bridge". The latter statement should be relegated to the Tier 1 and Tier 2 reports sections, away from public view.
  • Lining Debate: "Lining", "snagging" or "flossing" fish is a hot-button topic that often ruins otherwise productive conversations. In order to keep the general discussion forum clean, helpful and productive, it is the policy of OFF that any and all "lining" conversation/debate be conducted in the "Salmonid Insanity" sub-forum.
  • Forum Etiquette: Simple - Be polite, keep it civil. All personal attacks, insults, inflammatory remarks, threats, racist remarks, trolling and otherwise rude and/or immature behaviour are strictly forbidden and will be met with disciplinary action up to and including permanent banning.

BUT, the flow didn't spike...

Were you in the river by the parking lot or out at the pier?

The last 2 runs came into the river perfectly coinciding with the spikes on this graph:

Any update on Port Hope for Sunday morning? Thinking of going tonight.

It's not the size of your rod, it's how you wiggle the worm...

On Sunday Sep. 5, at around 11 Am I stopped by Port Hope, was walking from parking lot to the pier , lot of people were fishing , no jumps out of water, nobody landed fish in half an hour I was there,

There was one hook up though, one guy hooked salmon on litte cleo, but after about 10 minutes of fighting it- he eventually lost it

Went to the Credit last night. Set up just north of the mouth. Was there form 8-10pm. Saw two landed, one lost, and a couple of jumpers. I had a couple "bumps" but that was it.
