Steelhead and Salmon forum rules

  • Specific Spots: Disclosing the presence of fish in a specific pool, upstream from the mouth of any river or tributary is not permitted in the publicly viewable general discussion forum. For example, you can say "I had a great day fishing yesterday on Wilmot Creek", but we do not encourage members to say "The fish are stacked up in the pool at the CNR bridge". The latter statement should be relegated to the Tier 1 and Tier 2 reports sections, away from public view.
  • Lining Debate: "Lining", "snagging" or "flossing" fish is a hot-button topic that often ruins otherwise productive conversations. In order to keep the general discussion forum clean, helpful and productive, it is the policy of OFF that any and all "lining" conversation/debate be conducted in the "Salmonid Insanity" sub-forum.
  • Forum Etiquette: Simple - Be polite, keep it civil. All personal attacks, insults, inflammatory remarks, threats, racist remarks, trolling and otherwise rude and/or immature behaviour are strictly forbidden and will be met with disciplinary action up to and including permanent banning.

Alright man I'm super excited because this is the best salmon/steelhead spot I've ever seen! If you can guess it right I'll post it in the hotspots! Here are the hints:

- It's on the Credit River.
- Theres construction workers.
- There's logs.
- There's man made objects.
- In the area there's water flowing in it from other sources.
- Mikey Mikey's been there!

Everyone gets one try! 8)

What the hell are you doing?

Seriously im glad you are mentioning that the salmon are up there but you are totally destroying it for everyone else that worked the rivers to find a nice spot. Whats going to happen now is its going to be super packed. Anyways should have just said they are in Erindale and be done with it.

Not to bash you on anything but when you start revealing spots to public its becomes a circus.

LOL

Don't worry about it mate. I'm one of the only people to have been to the other side of that spot to see those fish.

I understand how you feel so i'm going to add to the spots that people should report resource abuse. The last thing I want to see is a no fishing sign in that spot because of this thread. If people are legally fishing it's all good. Plus, look on the bright side, once the salmon are gone so will most of the people...

Openfire locked the post so I can no longer add to it. Anyways, the whole point of this site is to show ontarios hotspots.

PM sent to openfire about this. I have an idea to make the hotspots accessible to anyone that contributes, but it`s going to have to be openfires choice.

OH damn, you are right.
I wonder why they did that. Because the spot you've questioned from what I remember was full of it.

Well now, let's keep it quiet.

Anyways, my favorite is mouth of DONE RIVER. I hope nobody fish here!! :D

As I've pointed out before, the new site will have a few changes regarding the structure of the reports sections etc..., but this board is about sharing info. The Credit River isn't exactly a secret spot by any means and neither is the spot in question. I knew about this spot back when I went to U of T Mississauga and so did everyone else who knew anything about the area. Girls used to swim there in the summer and freak out with all the big fish swimming by them... it was quite funny actually.

The only reason I didn't mention it myself was because it was a sanctuary the last time I fished Erindale and I was unaware that it is now open to fishing.

If you are truly worried about any one individual spot becoming a circus, then the best thing you can do is share other spots you know about so people have a variety of places to choose from.

wow people swimming there huh? Someone told me there is a bridge between 403 and Britannia (the sanctuary) where there are loads of chinooks. The sanctuary starts august 15 - Trout season.

There was a small male chinny in half a feet of water where the water goes in. I ebded up force feeding the guy a silver kwikfish. I think I saw an atlantic in there too. I would pass all the fish with my lure, but they wouldn't be interested until the fly guy showed up with his small flies (fishing flies lol).
