Steelhead and Salmon forum rules

  • Specific Spots: Disclosing the presence of fish in a specific pool, upstream from the mouth of any river or tributary is not permitted in the publicly viewable general discussion forum. For example, you can say "I had a great day fishing yesterday on Wilmot Creek", but we do not encourage members to say "The fish are stacked up in the pool at the CNR bridge". The latter statement should be relegated to the Tier 1 and Tier 2 reports sections, away from public view.
  • Lining Debate: "Lining", "snagging" or "flossing" fish is a hot-button topic that often ruins otherwise productive conversations. In order to keep the general discussion forum clean, helpful and productive, it is the policy of OFF that any and all "lining" conversation/debate be conducted in the "Salmonid Insanity" sub-forum.
  • Forum Etiquette: Simple - Be polite, keep it civil. All personal attacks, insults, inflammatory remarks, threats, racist remarks, trolling and otherwise rude and/or immature behaviour are strictly forbidden and will be met with disciplinary action up to and including permanent banning.

Surprisingly, there were no fish at all in the Credit River all the way down to the QEW. Thats right, I actually walked all the way to the highway and back with no fish to be seen in the clear water.

When I was going through the golf course I met a really nice man that worked there and was picking up golf balls from the river. He's been working there for 30 years so he had some experience with fish. He showed me some of the best holding spots he's seen fish in over the years. Today there were none. Even with the rain. But I did almost get hit in the head by a golf ball and get yelled at. When I was returning one of the guys golfing was like "you better listen to what we say"LOL......I left faster than a chinny running through rapids...

Please let us know when the action starts picking up or at least when they start getting snagged near lakeshore,

Thanks. Rapala Boy.

Interesting. I'm actually a little surprised that you didn't see any at all. They're stacked up at the mouth right now, so the next big rain will bring a huge run into the river.

On a side note, what that tells me is - for anyone who cares - check under the railroad tracks. There are usually fish holding here under these circumstances... you won't see them, but they're there.

Tuesday night from 8-10pm just north of the mouth (park by lakeshore bridge) saw two landed, one lost and a couple jumpers.
