Did you try kijiji? I just got a fishfinder for $25 today, maybe I'll use it for ice fishing. I'm not a fan of ice fishing but willing to give it another shot. I been thinking about designing and building a really cheap folding hut, has to be less than $100. I got a SUV but it only fits a 4x6 sheet of plywood or such. My problem is I have to build it out doors, no garage to work in, it's full of other fish junk...........lol. Still try kijiji I had good luck with that so far. Got the fishfinder off a guy who is getting rid of all his stuff, he never mentioned he had a hut but has an inflatable boat to get rid of. I'll give him a call tomorrow for you, let you know.

Was going to spend 75-150 but a new member responded to my ad with a hut for 70. It is one of those tent style huts with no base but for that price I cant really go wrong. He is also selling a one man fold over hut too if anyone else is looking. I am a little skeptical about getting a hut with no base but for that price i'm thinking I can use it for a season and sell it when I upgrade.

$150 is more than I can afford right now. Besides I don't even have a auger yet........lol. Set up a hut without the hole would be kinda pointless...........lol.. I have to see if I like ice fishing before I make or buy one too..... maybe Nado's interested in it. Thanks for looking tho.

at cooks bay you don't need auger, the ice is like swiss cheese.

if you are just starting out start buying equipment slowly.

rods first, then auger and sled, fishfinder and hut would be the last thing to buy

i would choose fishfinder over hut anyday when ice fishing

The one and only time I ice fished Cooks bay the ice was 2' thick. Is swiss cheese safe? You fall into the hole and become a popsicle........lol. Sled?......man this gonna get expensive....lol. sled to drag your stuff out or snowmobile? I just hate the cold that's why I have never gone out again, but will to give it another try and dress properly.

Thanks for the equipment tip. I got the rod then jumped the gun and got a fishfinder.......lol. I can't find or catch fish b/c no auger to make a hole.....lol.

what i meant was, once the ice is safe 4+ inches, there are a lot of holes in the ice from other anglers that you can find one without a problem.

personally would not go on a 2" ice for a perch, not worth getting wet
