I won't wade into the roe bag debate…yet. At the very least as outdoor sportsmen I believe that we genuinely appreciate what this country has to offer and respect the piscatorial resource. I also think however we can/should do more--case in point, and I have elsewhere mentioned this, a particularly gem-like, gin-clear creek in the east is being crowded out by encroaching development. It will only be a matter of time, with the insistent traffic on that stream (now by more than just anglers) will be its demise. There are already garbage bags in the water and dog poop around the banks.

The opportunity to express concerns for our global habitat on the world stage and to model what a good custodian of resources should look like, has been circumvented. KEN DOLL, one time "news-reader," and now political stooge (shockingly--Minister of the Environment!!) Peter Kent has betrayed all those who hope to dare for a sustainable environment by helping Canada opt out of the Kyoto Protocol. Though flawed, there was at least some framework/forum inviting continued debate and discussion regarding CO2 emissions and measures for mitigation. Finally China and India (and other industrializing countries) have been pressured to cede the veiled moral claim to accommodation and exception. We will see where this takes us.

Praise be to the steelhead and native brookies--and whence Salar.

He who joyfully marches to music in rank and file has already earned my contempt. He has been given a large brain by mistake, since for him the spinal cord would suffice.

The concern for mother earth has again taken a back seat to capital greed - development has and will continue to destroy nature until nothing is left. We all are guardians yet little is done but rather sooner then later we all will have to address what has been known for a long time resources are renewable if managed properly. We all know from the past what has happened if abuse and neglect are left unchecked - pollution - extinction - waste - greed. Kyoto in my eyes was never going to be fullfilled due to the cost in dollars out of the rich pockets that also influence the rules - lobbyists are paid well to grease the right palms - seriously harper may balance budgets but at what cost - lost jobs - broken policy after broken policy - this government is for the rich not us our the environment. He has made foreign investment easier to buy up here (resources) and take out of our country - put others to work - sell it back. Water rights, mineral rights, workers rights, human rights, environmental rights, and on and on - but hey he sure can balance them there books - right - again at what cost to you - me - our future generations - our children their children. This country sure is heading in the wrong direction and buying out of Kyoto is just another nail in this country and mother earths coffin...... just my 2 cents. Yeah I know 2 cents isn't worth much any more.

Amen to that Jim.
Mind you two cents is all you need for the ferryman--one for each eye
