Well..... talk about wicked weather to get out and give it a go!

*SMILES*

Went out to the Credit River (Erindale Park) and the Bronte Pier today.

Are you kidding me?

BLOW OUT!

Always fun to get out and enjoy the walk ..... but the wind was insane.

No ice to be seen anywhere .... just MUD, CHOCOLATE (Bronte).

Credit had more visibility ... but no hits. Just flurries and Wind.

SKUNK!

I had to work in that crap yesterday in Fonthill, near St Kitts. We were all miserable and 2 inches of wet snow fell on us too. Your post is kind of funny to me because I remember thinking to myself yesterday that I wouldn't be nearly as miserable if I was fishing :)

Alfie.

YES that was me and my BrotherInLaw (Bill).
Where you at the Credit?

Cause no one was out at Bronte!

It was an absolute mess of Chocolate - High water.

We werent "Really Fishing" - more or less going for a walk and seeing how to brave ridiculous conditions.

Good for the Soul!

At Credit only stayed for about 1 hr.

Was that you at the Icebreakers (on the other side)?

Yes indeed that was me at the icebreakers on the other side, I was just testing out my new rod... Was so close to yelling blair until I saw another male approach you and figured blair usually fishes alone so theres no way thats him  I got to the credit 630am was BLOWN, dark chocolate high waters no way of crossing by the time you got there the river had dropped by 10 inches and cleared a bit

BLAIR--you are crazy man Posted Image

How's the new rod Trout?

There probably were other people out at the pier until the wind got a hold of them!

It's all fun and games, until someone loses a fish!

Awesome vid, I saw it on Youtube before here lol. What were you guys targeting? I spoke to my grandfather today and he said back in his day, at this time of year, he fished for trout in Port Hope. Were you guys after trout? I wonder if trout can still be found in Port hope today....

Steelies and Browns.
Course if a "Pike" was there and wanted to take the offering..... I'd be all smiles as well!

If the weather is suitable... *SMILES* ... the mouth of any river, can be a great producer.

You get the BEST of BOTH worlds:

1. Fish that prefer hanging out in the DEEP LAKE WATER

2. Fish that are staging to go up river

3. Fish that are Coming down river

* Weird weather this year (Not frozen) ... but the mouth usually has the available OPEN WATER in winter.

I also believe that a lot of fish hang out at the mouths, because the FOOD SOURCE of the RIVERS (Exspecially after rains) flows down and out as well.
Plus good oxygen levels.

TRY TO FISH THE LINE where the River water hits the LAKE WATER!

Awesome, definitely learned a thing or three =). Now, what my grandfather did in his day was a bell sinker with roe bags going up the line, he'd just sit and wait near the river mouth. Static fishing. I'm not sure if that's the best approach for large open and deep waters, shouldn't the technique be focused on covering as much water as possible?
