Anyone that says salmon don't bite are fooling themselves. This one sure did want that fly dead. Purple and black with some flashabou mixed in with the candy cane under wrapping. The fly had already gone well past where this fish was sitting, it turned to come back and eat it

Nice
Very aggressive fish when they want to be.
Will even inhale your float at times.

Thanks, it's just called a popsicle Spey fly, it's a custom combo of colours and wraps though

Caught last night. Still having trouble identifying male/female on fresh chins. I was thinking this was female but the adipose makes me think otherwise.

The adipose has no bearing on what sex a fish is, the only that will tell you is whether or not it's a stocked fish. Your fish is female. The protrusion in front of the anal fin and the shape of the jaw. Males will be developing a hooked jaw now, and their fangs will be growing in

Come on Big.
Time for some pics on how you and the boys are making out.
Reminds me of the old days when my back could last more than 4 hrs. Ha

back at it tonight, was one of the largest fish i've ever had on the end of my line, i could barely get my hand half way around the tail, and im 6'4.  was an awesome fight, my arms are beat, i even got beaver tailed with mud.  and again on my homemade streamer!

That looks like a blast. Are you blind casting in the pools for these guys? Or can you sight fish them and watch them chase?

Both. The water is really cloudy for unknown reasons, so big, dark streams, and just stripping it through the pool, let the current take it, then strip in.

The one I posted earlier was sight fished, watched the strike happen

Was hoping for a steelhead or coho but ended up with a big chinny.
