every year i read the regs and then when i go down to the ganny and see guys fishing where im 99.9% sure is a sanctuary i tell them you cant fish there but i keep getting told its open and i can fish there. What i would like to know is if someone can please tell me exactly where is in and out of the fishing zone that would be great, ive always stayed away from there for that reason, If anyone wants to PM me thats fine as well. Thanks in advance guys

From the regulations:

Ganaraska River - Town of Port Hope

From Hwy. 401 downstream to the south side of the Jocelyn Street bridge.

Fish sanctuary - closed all year.

Ganaraska River

ADDITIONAL ZONE 17 FISHING OPPORTUNITIES

Between the southerly limit of the C.N.R. right-of-way and Lake Ontario

Rainbow trout, Brown trout and Pacific salmon extended fall season (4th Sat. in April to Dec. 31)

So at this time you must still fish below the tracks - and starting next week you can fish from the lake only to the Jocelyn Str. Bridge, according to how I read it.

its a bit confusing there, the normal season, 4th Sat of April to Sept 30 at midnight, you can fish the entire river system, after that from Oct 1st to Dec 31st is when the extended fishing opprotunities come in, and then from Jan 1st to 4th Sat of April is CNR tracks to the lake

Except for the santuary below the dam to Jocelyn Street.
