Here is a picture of my grandfather, he's a great guy. It is his first year fly fishing for fall steelhead! What a joy!

*picture unavailable

Uh oh, looks like he's made a friend. How nice it is to have someone to talk to in the river

Wait a minute, is he fishing right beside him? Is there no respect on the river any more?
Oh, wait a minute. Is there someone else coming up the river?

What the hell man, "Hey! Buddy! What are you doing!?" "It's fine man!"

Look at this nonsense...

Please don't do this... Respect everyone's space on the river.

Tried to add a little comedy to something I found ridiculous at the time, If anyone was out today they'd note that there was no one on the river.

Is that common in the eastern tribs? I mainly fish the west and gb tribs and never encounter that kinda crap, although i tend to avoid the crowds if i can aha.

Becoming more and more common, I tend try and avoid it as much as possible but If we are getting cozied up I'd like to at least enjoy a good conversation

My buddy once had a guy come sit in his pocket, so he started hitting on him. He left in like 3 drifts.

Yep, was pretty dead, but the first light bite was decent.

Very common in an easter trib. 2 dudes tried to push me out of the hole once... 5ft downstream from where I am and set up shop. So I simply wade on the water and drove all the fish away. went to another hole. when I came back there are like 5 anglers in the hole.lol.

When someone does that to me, I act like a complete NOOB and fly cast everywhere like a crazy. People hate a fly wizzing by their heads at 100km/h. Makes them kind of...afraid.

"Sorry there bud. Maybe you shouldn't be in my casting zone?"

when people come too close into my spot i just get more liberal with my drift/swing and keep it in the water in front of them. the key is to stare at them the whole time while doing this.

it usually gets the point across..

ive had it turn into a verbal engagement a few times but that usually doesnt work well for them ;)

I think I've posted about this story before, but it fits here.

When I was young (13-15 range) we used to go on pretty decent hikes around the credit (near the forks, further north). We would frequently walk the river because its so shallow and nice on a really hot day. One day there were a few of us plus dog, walked by some guys fishing... just marched right on past em through the water. Couldn't figure out why they were such "assholes" lol.
