Does anyone know where I could buy one of these??
It would be perfect for portaging as it is light weight and folds up. My uncle had this exact one years ago but I can't find anyone who sells it now.
Thanks

Sit backer canoe seat. Mec carries them as well as bps. I use them and love them, extra padding really helps on a long day.

Funny, I looked on both their Web sites and didn't see it. I am looking for the exact style shown in the picture.

You won't find that style around here anymore. Maybe check kijiji or something. Other than that your limited to what's out there, and after trying a lot of other seats, the one I mentioned was the best for the price (40 bucks).
Either way good luck on your hunt, please update this thread of u do find one and where u got it (id love to have one of those too!!)

Shouldn't be necessary unless you have a back problem, but not sure how much it helps if you do.

I'll keep an eye on kijiji, thanks for that idea.
I don't really have a back problem but I ain't no spring chicken either! I go on a trip to algonquin every year with a bunch of buddies. I spend many hours trolling in the canoe and it gets extremely uncomfortable. I think if I could pick one of these up for around 20 bucks it would be well worth it!

I'm no spring chicken either. I tend to kneel most of the time and sit up for breaks. I think moving about like that helps my back and other muscles.
