Heading up to the Huntsville area for a family fishing weekend from the Toronto Area.

Can anyone tell me where I can buy LIVE FROGS for Fishing Bait?

The old boys who run Bait Shops don't really have a great web presence.

Can anyone tell me who sells our little green friends?

I second that opinion. Thinking back to my hunter course (it was a long time ago) I believe you need a hunting license to harvest frogs. I could very well be crazy though.

I think you can only use northern leopard frogs. You have to catch them yourself. Limit of ten. You can't sell them. You can catch bullfrogs but you can only eat them. You aren't allowed to use them as bait and I think the limit on possession is twelve.

Leopard frog limit is 12 self caught. Haven't found anything yet on buying them. You need a hunting license for bullfrog but not leopard frogs for use as bait

You can only use Northern Leopard frogs, have to catch them yourself, and can only 12 in possession.

OP, go hunt those ponds in subdivisions, or go for a round of golf late in the day and spent a lot of time around water hazards lol

I remember as a kid catching huge bullfrogs, tonnes of leopard frogs and having to watch my step when the toads morphed outta the water... its been about 3 years since I've seen a big ole bull and finally this year I stumbled upon a good toad infestation... and I spend a lot of time in the bush off the beaten path.

Thanks Guys...

I knew we can only use the Northern Leopard,

and I have spent midnights in the marshy areas of my favourite fishing hole up in the Skokies...

but its a pain..... I should be drinkin' beer, not frog hunting

I often can find a bunch of bull frogs but the Leopards were harder to find.

I ended up doing more research and found the same result... no more frog sales after "08

Prior to that it was permitted by licence only.

Well thanks for all the help people.

I guess I'm going Frogin' tonight... so I'll be the champ tomorrow.

Last year I caught FOUR frogs

=

FOUR 3.5 -4.5 pound Smallmouth Bass in my first 5 casts

darn good day of fishin' by my standards.

Thanks again....  Keep on Reelin'

Here, ... fishy, Fishy,FISHY!~
