From them directly. They have a orange seal that rubs against the the screw that holds the pin in. I'd go with the abec5s from them cause they have the metal seal. Do you think you wore out bearings in less than a year?

Haha I'm such a loser. I'm wondering if they're the same bearings I used as a kid on my skateboard. I had Abec 7's or 8's

The start up leaves something to be desired or I'm being to picky. Before I order anything I'll take bearings out clean and oil.
try giving the center screw like a quarter turn left, ive found the raven reels run much better when that screw isnt all the way tight.

I had the same issue , by loosening that screw a bit it did make a big difference.

I think that the last 2 replies are right on the money.

Just to follow up on this. I took the bearings out a cleaned and re lubed with light oil. Made a huge difference, I actually have no desire to upgrade bearing or reel. After using this reel and becoming more experienced with a pin I'm actually very happy with my purchase and will not be purchasing another reel for as long as this set up is performing. Took me awhile but I know completely understand it really has nothing to do with the equipment it's how it's used, maintained and mostly how what under the water is presented. Can have the best of everything and means nothing if you don't present to the quarry properly. Sure is cheaper this way...lol
