Hi I am from Hamilton and LOVE FISHIN'! I target anything from panfish to carp. I usually stay around the harbour(less driving=more fishing) but have had day trips to St.Cath, Dunville, Cambridge etc... I bought a fishing kayak last fall but it hasn't seen water yet.
Anyone who wants to get some lines wet let me know.I do a lot of shore fishing. I am looking forward to some pike in a few weeks. I've been out for crappie, perch and carp so far.

Cheers!

I fish the harbour often with great results for silver bass, cats, and panfish. Mostly from a boat. A back injury has limited my shore fishing ability...

Hi guys thanks for the welcome to OFF.

Where abouts in the Harbour do yous fish?
I usually park at Bayfront and walk the shore towards Cootes.
Ive heard good things about LaSalle area and want to hit it up for pike opener. With the Harbour being zone 20, and Hamilton is zone 16, which opener do you follow? There is a week difference between the 2.An week earlier of fishing pike would be sweet.

I would say any fishing on the open water including casting lines from shore into the harbour would be considered zone 20. All the rivers and water bodies inland from the harbour to be zone 16. When in doubt though contact the MNR as you don't want to be targeting an out of season fish.

Welcome to the forum baitcaster83! I fish like you. For everything and I'm mostly stuck to shore fishing hamilton and the whirlpool quite a bit. If you're ever out fishing shoot me a pm aND if I can make it I'll swing down. I'm still new to the hamilton fishing and didn't get out much last year for the first time in years.
