I'm looking to buy a rod stand for carping. I normally just lay my rod on the grass, but I had a couple close calls last year , with fish almost pulling my rod in. Any good ones I should look for, ideally under $100? Thanks guys.

I don't use a stand but I rest mine on my backpack with a tether and a carabiner.
Just hook it onto your rod and don't have to worry about it going in the water.
I learned this from Muskiebait

What about just one of those cheap red coils from Crappy Tire that dig into the ground? Put it on the right angle and the rod isn't going anywhere. Like $5.

Rod pods are great in the link from FrequentFlyer. Great for gravel or rocky shores and when needed you can convert the legs to bank sticks for softer ground. SAIL sells them.
