I have also seen pictures on instagram of three Salmon caught from the tributary on the west side of Ontario. I went on the 18th and caught nothing and saw nothing. A man at the harbour said it was far too hot out. So I'm waiting the temps to be bearable and for it to rain, then i shall return.

Their are some fish around pier mouths. Some pier have been better then others so far this year. With the rain and cooler weather on the way fish will start running again some tribs will get fish before others all ways how it is. Just gotta keep checking I've seen fish caught this year already and other spots nothing the rain will help more of it will help

Tried a west pier this morning(4:45am to 7:15am).
About 12 other anglers. Lots of baitfish. Some salmon jumping sporadically. I was able to hook into one, but lost it due to my own stupidity(hadn't changed my reels yet and gave too much slack line while trying not to get spooled). No other action while I was there.

Ya tried an east pier this past Sunday and Tuesday nights for a few hours. No action either night. Probably gonna get out tomorrow morning again now that I've grabbed my proper reel and changed my hooks on my spoons. Just haven't decided if I wanna go west or east. Both the same amount of driving as I'm central haha.

Tried a west pier this morning, came about 20 minutes before sunrise, and for those 20 minutes, we were getting bites but just couldn't set them. But as soon, and i mean as soon as the sun was even remotely visible, we got absolutely no bites. A sure indication that maybe its still too early out east?? But this one guy did get a big hen right when we arrived, around 30 lbs.

Beman I had fished one pier on the 18th of August with no evidence of Salmon. On the 19th I saw a few salmon posted on Instagram caught that day. Strangely for the west piers I would think that the run is not in full motion yet. I haven't seen any salmon posts for that one west pier yet. I would recommend that u follow this forum, that way once there is news of salmon you will see it as soon as possible and not miss the runs.

Yeah lol I guess I should of put Instagram posts. I like to look for fish on Instagram cause if there's any real action there's always posts. U just got to know who to follow and what to search to find these.

Some times you need to do the leg work your self and stop waiting for some one to post a pic. Guys and gals on here who get a lot of fish have also had plenty of fishless days as well. Salmon have been spotted in the creeks for weeks now. Keep on waiting for a pic.

They'll post later.

Back on topic here, I'm waiting for the west Tribs, the east Tribs are too far for my "taxi drivers". I know that the east Tribs have had a great success this year and still are. The struggle is real 😂

Pick a river go to the mouth(pier) throw some spoons(glow) slow and fast , big poppers, or j12's , if nothing tie on some roe and a sinker throw out then wait ... Could be slow all night then BOOM! Fish on and everyone wakes up! Lol , Tip- get some glow sticks(dollar store) and tape it to your rod tip so you can see any bite on the rod, trust me it comes in handy

Oh and post pics , it's salmon pier fishing , it's not a secret . It's not steel heading spots in special part of a river, calm the the hell down. Lol we have caugh some in Oakville Pier (bronte) big fish , but lots of people(until past 11pm that is) this time of year between 10pm and 6am is the best! Fish jumping like crazy hence the poppers
