Hi, everyone.
I just joined this forum with the hope of learning from the community.
My experiences outdoors have been limited to backcountry camping (doing it since I was a kid) and I practically live in the outdoors throughout the entire year (yes, winter included), yet, I've haven't fished since I was 12. The reason for the loss of interest was because my Father used to take me with him all the time, but after he passed, I didn't want to be reminded of those moments we shared and eventually, I forgot about fishing.
Now, I am expecting a child of my own. This reason coupled with a Father-in-Law who is enthusiastic about learning to fish (he's also a complete novice like me), has pushed me to add fishing to my outdoor repertoire. There is, however, one problem: I know nothing about fishing.
So as the days pass I will be asking for input from the more seasoned veterans on this forum for any inside tips on gear, technique, etc. - of course, I'll post to the relevant discussion areas.
I hope to learn from you all and share some fun experiences that will help us grow as fishing aficionados.
Thank you for taking the time to read my introduction.
Take care,
