Hey,

I'm new to the forum and I'm here to learn about fishing opportunities and techniques in Ontario.

I'm based out of Hamilton and I fly fish mostly, but also dabble in spin casting. I like to target trout, pike, and bass. I am mostly catch and release, but will keep a fish every blue moon.

Outside of fishing, I like to ski, camp, and explore!

Looking forward to being a contributing member of this community.

Cheers!

I have not. It's something I would be open to trying as there are tonnes of carp waters around me. I figure it would be difficult to catch carp on a fly. Aren't they usually attracted to smelly baits, i.e. sweetcorn? What flys would you recommend?

Welcome to the forums!

Salmon will soon be here, and you can put some bend into your fly rod!

I've got them on a black woolly bugger, assume it thought it was a leech haha they do sometimes strike on visuals. I have other buddies who have targeted them on the fly as well.
