I seen a few carp just chilling on the surface assuming they’re sun bathing but I fish for a while with no bites, tried again the next day same deal,do the carp not feed until the water warms up and it’s right before their spawn or should I approach them differently in the early spring? But I must say I loved ice fishing but seeing the carp again is getting me excited can’t wait to give em a shot this year

Try baiting the area your fishing for a few days then go back and fish. I was catching carp right at ice out with corn on a hair rig.

Yup, chum the area for a few days before you plan on fishing it.

Just fish it the way you fish carp on any day, they can be sluggish but they will bite...chum / feeder rig...I have tried fishing them in winter...I just don't like waiting for a bite in cold temps that's why I never did it again. plus I get more action steelheading in winter...
