#345303 Tangamong Lake - Marmora & Lake Township
Posted by DocJMB on 02 January 2021 - 06:00 PM in General Fishing Discussion
There are a series of small rapids just North of our camp...the Gut is up a bit:
Not allowed to attach the map image (.jpg or .png) I have in this forum...if you give me your email address, will forward it to you.
Don't think you could get past the 1st rapids in a boat/canoe..not an easy portage around.
If you take the Lasswade Road east off of Hwy 46, the road access to The Gut is just above the bridge over the Crowe River - well marked...a rough 1 ½ km to the parking lot.
My email address is jmbonn@me.com ..love to see your map
Thanks!

Thanks for this update..can't find the road allowance on Google Earth but plan take a trip up next spring & do a bit of exploring. Our gang established a hunt camp north of Tangamong up the Crowe River just south of the Gut back in 1974! We used to float down the river to fish the falls!!

Have a bunch of rods/reels/tackle boxes that I would be glad to donate - all in great shape.
Sure have accumulated a lot of stuff over some 5 decades of fishing!

Spend a lot of time trolling....inland lakes & Lake Ontario (when its calm)...
Also, the safety factor for those times out on Lake Ontario in case the 50 malfunctions
Do have a Merc 4.5 that has been in storage for > 10 years & thought I might restore it & hook it up.
Love getting ready for the season in March!!
#345102 Add Kicker Motor to Lowe 165 Fishing Machine
Posted by DocJMB on 26 March 2020 - 09:50 PM in General Fishing Discussion
Want to add a Merc 4.5 (long shaft) beside my Merc 50 on a Lowe 165 Fishing Machine.
Would like to avoid the need for a bracket.
Has anyone any tips on deck/transom modifications that might be necessary?
The motor bracket has a depth of 2 3/4 "; the transom clearance on the inside is 2 1/2 "
Not sure how or if I can access the area between the front of the transom & the rear of a storage compartment (approx 8") (Red Arrow)
Any tips/advice would be most welcome!
...John
