#325288 Brantford fishing/ new to shore fishing

Posted by mccann91 on 05 July 2015 - 10:32 PM in General Fishing Discussion

hello everyone,

I have just moved to brantford, just like most of you I love to fish. I have never fished from shore before tho, always boat just jigging or throwing my rappala for pike, and walleye. I was wondering if any one had tips for me to help me start shore fishing such as:

How to land your fish, do you use a net or would you rather bare hand it?
Do you like to cast and real in? Or let your lure sit out?

Just basic knowledge would help me out a ton.

Also Like I mentioned I have just moved to brantford I'm
Not asking for anybody's hot spots just looking for areas to fish, I've heard great things about fishing behind the casino. And my last final
Question what are you using for bait? Live bait of lure? What type
Of lures ?

Thank you For the help

Glad I found this forum looking to get some helpful tips on brantford fishing and shore fishing, I have always. Fished from a boat, last 4 summers I have been spoiled enough to work at a lodge in northern ontario with great Walleye, and pike fishing, I know live in brantford and I'm looking to get into the fishing scene here. I first heard of the forum while working at one of the fishing/boat shows for the lodge, hopefully i can get some good advice from here can't wait to start getting evolved in some. Good fish chats

Thank you

#325343 Targeting pike

Posted by mccann91 on 07 July 2015 - 08:36 PM in General Fishing Discussion

hello everyone
I'm headed on a fishing trip on Saturday, I know this lake pretty well but have only gone out on the water targeting walleye, and just come across pike. I want to spend a couple days going after pike, anyone have any pointers on lures and such to target pike. The lake is a tea stained lake so the water is darker then normal. Any advice will be great

Thanks
