I thought I share some of my ice fishing experience at Lake Scugog on the Ice fishing forums.  I Ice fish with the Scugog Ice Adventures at Port Perry. They provide world class Ice Fishing, with very professional ice fishing huts, heating, live baits, equipment, and an ice tank ride. Even the Americans will come to Lake Scugog to ice fish with Scugog Ice Adventures.

I ice fish with Scugog Ice Adventures, because they will set up at good locations and they also guarantee your safety on the ice. I rather go with Scugog Ice Adventures experts than go out on the ice alone, inexperienced. It's a safety on the ice thing.

Scugog ice fished smaller perches.  Good for soups, but I catch and released them all.  They are on the bag for picture only.

Other people were able to catch walleye, carp and musky too.  Catch and released, but Walleye is officially closed at Lake Scugog. But lots of crappie ice fishing.  I have no guilt eating the crappie, because they are everywhere and in a way I'm harvesting delicious fish and contributing to the protection of the walleye population at scugog, in addition to the price I paid to ice fish + Sport fishing license :)

Sidenote: You are only permitted to have 2 ice lines in the water at all times.  Make sure you don't accidentally break any rules when an officer appears to check for fishing licenses.  I got fined $200 on my first ice fishing trip... but whatever... the officer was just doing his job, enforcing the law.  The law has become my ally.
