On opening day, I fished the CR NW of TO...No luck. There were many guys out; there was also no luck for anybody. Went north of Brampton - caught one female rainbow with row still inside her. There was no food inside her stomach and her liver was quite emaciated. There were no nymphs or insect larvae under rocks. The valley looked quite devastated from ice damage.

The last time I fished there was during the '70's. The river has filled in quite a bit from 3' deep to less than a foot. The river had a number of meanderings in ti. Many of the cedars had been eliminated. I was wondering if you guys have seen or experienced similar problems with other streams in southern Ontario.. This activity can be quite devasting to the trout fishing sport.

I caught this fish with a Mepps silver.
