Hey guys, i moved to ottawa for some governement job last jan - therefore i have plenty of time to go fishing now... I tried to fish the ottawa river today, but most of the places with docks r still frozen (bass season just closed here today, i guess the reason they open it till now is cause u cant get any...)

just wondering if any of you are familiar with the area, seems like there r a lot of lakes around... (i dont think i see much ponds though, i guess storm water leaks into the river)

also, im gonna come back to toronto this easter weekend.. has anyone visited the holland river lately? Is it still frozen? thought i might warm up my new stradic and st croix set up with a few crappppies.

Hey sup pigurd, that's great to hear man !! I hear Ottawa has some amazing fishing, especially if you go just a bit north or over the border into Quebec. As for being familiar with the area, went to Ottawa once, but maybe try checking the web, who knows, you might find some close by ponds/rivers near there. As for the holland river, I think its open now, but we just got a cold-spell yesterday & today, so I would imagine the water is still too cold to fish for them (getting bites wise). I say give it a few weeks and they should be biting !!
