bucktails

hey snypa, maybe you can tell me on what the bucktaisl are tied on. i mean when its not tied on the hook, its on some sort of small tube or smth that is later slided on the wire. thanks

For making bucktails, its a mix of fly-tying (fairly easy) with some wire-bending, heres' how you start it off, first build up the main bucktail, once you do that, you can add a body (main wire) etc, with weight, spinner blades etc. here's a few links i found.

thanks snypa, so i guess all bucktails go on treble, you know any place to buy bucktail material other than lebaron and basspro?

I usually get most of my fly-tying stuff from cabelas.com (in the US) the service on their site is excellent, but I get everything else such as premium marabou feathers from luremaking.com (Ontario based). What you'll probably want is the extra long strung marabou, i think theyre currently out of black tho. There's also local tackle shops that sell it, BPS has a fly shop that sells materials I think.
