Who's getting ready to fish some slabs in the next couple of weeks?
I usually head up to Cook's Bay every spring awaiting these fish right after ice out.
Who's up for it? haha :D

I save April for the crappies, then May is piking time!

You're talking about -----------------------------------? Yes, that spot definitely produces during the spring as well. Same technique as well. Make sure you carry lots of different colours as it really makes a difference, sometimes they hit nothing but a specific colour. :D

CRAPPIE! Can't wait. Cooks for me or the canal in Brad. I have a few lets say secret spots. But I love to fish Bradford. Then when Rice Lake opens, crappie and blue gills from the boat.

Can't wait,

ahhhh... i can't wait either.
i'm looking forward to it even more than spring pike!
once i find out that ice is out, i'm there.
i may even go up next week to see if there are any fishable ice-free areas and do some scouting.

rice lake has loads of crappie.
i remember going last summer in the dreaded heat fishing for bass and would land some big slabs on bass lures in the middle of the lake.

ohh... to be in a boat again... i need soft water! :)

I don't like messing with live bait much...
so i use anything small
in 1.5~2.5inch range of jig, minnow (plastics) with my Ultra Light 7'6" 4-piece Rod

I'm not sure, but it looks like private property. Has anyone else been here?

its five bucks at any marina at bradford, crappies ussualy bite at night so you might save your $ but look out for dogs.

sometimes, since there is not too much access to the river between bradford bridge and lake simcoe.

i have never tried the marinas, but they look promising, and yes, i believe it is about 5 bucks.

slip float with tube jig for me on 5 ft ultralight shimano clarus and shimano sedona 1500 spinning reel. I also use 4 lb test.

I went to BPS few days ago and couldn't find those fin s shad. Maybe they all sold out? Sales person said... "it should be here~". Maybe they should reorganize that place as they god too much items all over the place.

Are you saying nobody there to correct $5 at night hours? Not that I am trying to be cheap but want to make sure of their marina policy. Yet they release guard dog to push you into water? I mean bite you? I mean.. :? :) (would i need to take my baseball bat with me? JustKidding) :)

Maybe I should go when you go.
