Depends on the swivel too. I use swivels.

The hooks with the brass middle:

are junk. They break open easily and fish and lure depart!

I use:

(The smaller version of it)
More expensive but what Ive found is if they do anything at all, the hook slides down the shaft over the lure's eyelet.


I have not tried these. How is the clip different from the first one you showed?

I would use a double uni knot to tie those lines together.

I really like this knot now. Quick and easy! More than strong enough for small panfish I catch!
