I went one year like probably 3 -4 years back, way before i found out that night fishing for crappie was any fun.
You stand on a big cement block and probably after 6 people, it will be terrible.

But yea, supposedly when its the right time, limiting out in one night is supposed to be easy. (We were told of this location during the run, but we went after the run so we caught 1 measly crappie that night)

The doubts about that spot are that casting space is VERY limited, Parking is on the side of the road, and when the run comes, the locals will be there, and i doubt we could get any space. At least at the holland river you can find yourself a spot where it's not completely shoulder to shoulder.

Frozenfire, if youre interested, I can give you the coordinates to try if you want.

it's a really small lake out in guelph right?
too far of a drive for me.

early april is fine for me, but by all means, if most of you can make it out before march ends, do so!
i wouldn't want to hold up a potential group get-together.

I'd be up for that anywhere.

Or a hookup on Rice or Simcoe in the boat.

Dirk....

I'd be with you on Rice in a heartbeat if my wife lets me out for the day.

I would love to be on a boat in Rice Lake.
Never been, but from when I see people getting back to the marina with their catch, it looks pretty amazing!

yay! You guys all better take me!
But yea, the only places I've been on a boat is....Sturgeon, Pigeon river (Just north of Omemee) and a small lake near georgian bay.
Out of those 3 times, I've never been successful except at catching sunfish Lol.

i know how you feel, i go trolling and fishing from boats all the timme at my cottage but have never caught a thing! however, when i'm in a little canoe in my favorite little bay (it's about a quarter of a kilometre squared and 4-6 feet deep with lots of nice weeds, during june i can paddle through there with a net and catch thousands of baitfish) when i canoe through there and i cast out, i can't avoid catching a nive sm bass or pike, it's great! i'll have to make a report on it this summer
