Took the taxi out of Mitchells Bay Variety on Saturday out to the end of the tree line. Fished off to the left of the tree line. Fished 6 different spots and from 8AM-4:30, we came up with only 3 small perch that we let go. Tried using minnows, waxworms, and spikes. Water clarity was good, however this part of the bay only gets to about 5 ft deep. Have caught fish in this area in the past. Everybody we talked to didn't catch much either. Not sure what is happening this year, but after talking to a bunch of fellow fisherman, they have said fishing has been like this for the last 3 or 4 weeks. Hopefully it picks up soon as I am not sure how mucj longer the ice will hold if this warm weather continues. Has anyone fished St. Lukes lately? It is deeper over there, however there is no taxi running this year so it makes for a long walk for people that don't have transportaion. Sorry for the long winded report, but I just wanted to let everyone know what is really happening out there. Fish On!
