Heard a rumour about someone catching a 10 lber in Rice Lake last weekend. He wasn't in the tournament. Just a regular guy. Rumours were confirmed when there was an article and picture in a local paper.

Here is the pic. Anyone know him? What a HAWG! /blink

Wow, that's one fine bass. Good on him for releasing the brute. Can't say I know the man but would like to meet the fish.

Nice fish!
10 lbs? I think not. 5-6 seems more like it to me. But once again...very nice fish.

So there is a 10# bass lose near indian river lodge eh?

I wonder how many google entries "indian river lodge, rice lake", where submitted in the last 24hrs?

All kidding aside doesn't look like 10#s I would say its up there tho 7-9#s?

Thx for sharing!

nice fish overall. I'd say even 6 is pushing it really badly though. It doesn't look much bigger than the one you caught the other day Dirk.

Mine was just over 4 lbs and it would look like a Rock Bass next to that one Edwin.

I would say it's the same size as my personal best...
I didn't get exact weight measurement but many people who saw the pics i posted guessed from 5-7, so i say 6lbs.

Hello!

I hooked two monsters on rice in Aug 2009 22inches and 18 around and last year September, 23.5 inches long 19.5 Around, and it was on rice lake. I did not have a scale but the first one id say was pushing 8 and the second one was close to 9. I mounted the big one check it out, let me know what you think and how it compares. Rice lake has some of the best large mouth in Ontario BIG BASS.jpg

The LMB was not a 10, just someone embelishing a story. Yours is very nice, like the mount, where did you have it done?

I'd give it 8 pounds.

He could have held it in a much better position though.

I think as you move furthur south, you can catch larger bass. That being said I had caught a 22 1/2" LM (between 7-8lbs) near Perth a few years back. So, as the growing seasons get longer with extended periods of warm water and if you're lucky, you can catch bigger bass than a similar lake furthur north. I don't think it's impossible to think a 10lb LM is in Rice Lake.

Thats a really nice LM, not a very good pic though.

You guys are making me jealous, there isn't much for LM close to home for me. Tons of smallies though. My pb is 6.1, and for this area, thats a giant.

I think I'd have a heart attack catching a ten lb bass.

Frozenfire, thats a great pic! That fish has some great color. What did it hit?
