Clinto lake, a.k.a. Hardwood lake.

Any tips for bass? Never fished for them. I'm really keen to catch them on the fly...

Hmmm reading the backroads book on clinto it mentions lake trout and rainbows, but not bass.
For catching bass a number of lures and techniques will work...topwater lures like the jitterbug, skitterpop, hula popper will produce at dusk and dawn. Jigs with twister tails, tube baits and other plastics will get you many smallmouth and largemouth.
Now flyfishing for bass....theres some real fun!! Tie up some deer hair frog and mouse patterns with heavy mono weedguards and get them in the thick weeds. Large streamers will also work on the weedline edges and midday when the wind is up.
Make sure you check the fishing regulations and dont fish for bass out of season.

Thanks a lot. I will indeed check the regulations for Clinto before I start fishing. I've also got a bunch of poppers which I can hurl on the fly rod.

10 days to go...
