Hi
I love to fish but do not have a boat yet. My little boy loves it to. I live in Oshawa and I am looking for places to take him shore fishing starting now and through the summer. Can anyone tell me of any places in Durham? The closer to Oshawa the better. This way if we only have a few hours to go we still can.
Thanks
Sean

You can try frenchmans bay right at the bottom of Liverpool rd I was there on sat and seen a few people fishing from shore and it looked like there was lots of public land to fish from. P.S my partner and I caught 4 pike in 3 hours. No size but still fun to play. I should mention that I was on a boat though.
Hope it helps! Thight lines

I will try there for sure. I know there are streems and creeks out here but I have no idea were to go. Thanks for the answer.

I have fished round durham region for years and have a few good places. If you want the little guy to catch consistently, I'd go to Brock street in Whitby right near the harbour. There's a big opening and if you just throw out a float with a worm, you can land some bullhead catfish very quickly ranging from 6 inches to over a foot. I've also caught some perch there and heard of others catching pike and its one of the best places I've been around here to get carp. Landed some 25 pounders 3 days straight with just some corn on bottom.

Oshawa marina down on simcoe is another good place to go. Right before you get to lakeview park there's a bridge you can walk down, and you can catch nearly anything from rainbows to bass.

Are you talking the river that is right before the park? I have often wondered but the water was so dirty I was not sure if anything was there.
