Just signed up and thought I'd say hello! I see some other members that look familiar too!!!

This site looks great, and I hope I can add some valuable content moving forward.

I'm a smallie, walleye, pike and crappie guy, but I also occasionally fish lake trout and other species as well. My homewaters are Rainy River, LOTW and Rainy Lake. I'm an avid shore angler at home, and out in the boat on the big waters.

I consider myself lucky to be surrounded by amazing lakes. In my life, I've probably fished 200 or so lakes withing a few hundred KM's.

Anyhow, I'm looking forward to seeing some great info and fishing reports from all over Ontario!

Hey manitoubass. Welcome to the forum, lots of great guys here and good conversation. Good info too.
My work takes me all over Ontario, but I haven't been up in your neck of the woods lately. Last year we got as far as Blind River, The Soo, Kap and Nipigon. My fishing gear always travels with me off course.
If we happen to get any jobs up your way this year, you interested in showing a young, old guy from S. Ont. a few fish?
Any way welcome and enjoy.

Alfie.

Thanks for the welcomes, much appreciated!

If your ever around my kneck of the woods I'd be more than happy to take you out fishing. We'd have to have a serious discussion though on what kind of trophy's to chase though, lol.

Rainy Lake--wow, god's country brother WELCOME!!

Thanks for the welcome!

I'm 20 minutes from Rainy Lake, 1 hour from Lake of the Woods, 3 hours from Lac Seul, and Rainy River is a mere 500 yards behind my house!

Not to mention the other 6000 shield lakes within two hours, lol.

We are truly spoiled anglers living in this area.

Well I was over there, up until a few weeks ago, lol. This board is full of great info and seems to have a much better feel to it.

I was manitoubass2 over there as well. Muskymike goes by his name here, Mike Rousseau. I`m flattered though that you confused us, cause he is one hell of an angler!

You're right about the general climate here...Sorry, that's right the same moniker on ofn. (the 3rd shot was your profile avatar) Get you a.s.s. banned there also??
Wasn't there a guy on ofn living in the Lac Seul region who was posting monster musky (can't remember his name though).

Sometimes slow here, but great guys...

No, I never got banned, just didn`t agree with how some people were being treated.

The only member I know from Lac Seul is Limeyangler, but he`s more a walleye and laker guy. And Benbeattie too.

And again, this board looks great. Very good quality posting, and a great attitude. I`m hoping to learn some about steelies, and this looks like a great spot for that. I can talk walleye, bass and pike all day, but I literally have nothing on steelhead, lol. Complete newbie.

I`m hoping to make it up to Thunder Bay this year to try fly fishing for the first time in my life

I`m smack dab between Winnipeg Manitoba and Thunder Bay Ontario. I`m about a full days drive from Toronto, lol. Thanks for the warm welcome! And if you ever make it out here, I could use a partner for sure!

Yes, yes it is in the middle of nowhere.

As a kid, I couldn't wait to leave here. As an adult and an angler, I couldn't wait to get back! Funny how that works, eh?
