@Blair
1) Your formatting of posts are so strange.. It's like reading a children's book..

2) I thank you for pointing out specific individuals that have made posts within this thread.. Quoting that "Someone" did this and "Someone" did that., seems rather pointless since you are referencing posts. It's blatantly obvious who you are calling out.. So instead of trying to be "PC" or neutral, why not just "sack-up" and say what you have to say? (without being belligerent or going beyond the forum rules)

Now, if my GENERAL post upset YOU or struck a cord, it's likely that YOU fall into one of those categories..

Moving forward, this thread has been derailed, almost beyond recognition.. it may be wise to start up a new thread once the date draws near, to see who is still interested in attending this event.
-IMO, this has soured any potential or initial excitement for this event... Which is a shame..

Yupp... I was about to just say $&@! It last night, you guys want to still go, by all means. It seems pointless, if you guys attack each other online, what are you going to do on the river? Drown each other? I'd rather go with all these new members who for the most part seemed more then thrilled about it. I don't know how this topic got so out of whack, but if someone else wants to run this debacle, by all means.

Way too much back and forth regarding fishing gear and price; so this is my idea of the perfect setup.

1: Rod and Reel setup something which your budget and willingness to spend allows for regardless if it’s a Fly, Float, Spinning and or Bait caster setup.

2: Some terminal tackle, i.e. hooks, weight and bait plus fishing line if you don’t already have your reels spooled. LOL

3: Haul your behind to the river, stream or lake wherever you intend to fish.

4: Bait and toss out your line and sit back/relax and with any luck the proceeds will be a fish hitting your line and you being able to land it.

5: Just enjoy yourself the scenery and hopefully any company around.

Float Down is attempting to arrange something that is more beneficial to the sport of fishing and the fishing community on this forum, with any luck it goes over smoothly and to the point where everyone wants to have a repeat every year.

If you’re going to judge someone do yourself a favor and judge them on their deeds and actions, rather than their equipment or wallet.

Funny joke I once heard and it’s really true, (You never see a U-Haul trailing a hearse) that my friends says it all…

This is one of the biggest benefits I think this fishing day will have. We all develop impressions of members of this site based on what they say and their writing style. Meeting these users in person is a whole new ball game. My prediction is that those who get into arguments on the forum and attack each other will meet each other in person and realize that hey, they aren’t so bad after all.

After this outing there should likely be more camaraderie on the forum and less thread derailing.

If I go, I've got a 7 seater, that's like $10 pp for a trip to Saugeen if we carpool. Yet another benefit lol.

Float down,
I commend you for attempting to do some thing good for the community. I for one appreciate your initiative and effort. But I must agree with you that this is unlikely to be a success.. -Quite a shame..

Thanks,
Rn
