X2

Is there anyway to increase the number of people on the PM? The max is 5 including OP. I think 8 or 10 would be better.

Did I mention a Buyer's Guide section already?........lol.

increase PM numbers!!! yess

also a solution for naming tribs--when you swear --not sure what its called but it changes the letters and spells something acceptable---we make a list of tribs and boom when someone types in saugeen it just becomes "trib" or a smiley face..

Awesome idea Schnip. We already can't swear. The same applied to trib names, I'm all for that.

Lot's of fish on :D go to the 4th pool south of the QEW.........lol.

Great idea.

Thats not a good idea!! if i were someone who liked to use them alot  , you may think  im always naming a trib, instead of just adding a  smile!
but i do think that the whole river name thing is a bit crazy...

eg if i say "i fished the credit today" that gives absolutely no clue as to where, could be near the lake, or 130 km north...
i think naming the rivers should have to do with the regulation on it,
eg bronte only has a very small section open, there fore its not hrd to figure out where to go, but if i say saugeen, then there is over 100km of river to choose from. kinda get my drift..
another good example is the Grand river.... way to much river to even fathom finding the hot spot jimmy was talking about just yesterday....

just my thoughts.. if its even worth 2 cents..

I believe it's called a word filter, and I think it sounds like a great idea. No need to use smileys as a replacement. It can be pretty much anything, like "x-trib".

UPDATE

The new forum software has finally been released as of 7:00AM this morning! :-D

This means that I, along with OFF staff, can and will begin the process of building the new and improved OFF! We will take all of the ideas that have been mentioned in this thread (and other threads) into consideration, and we aim to provide the best possible user experience in the next iteration of OFF.

While I cannot give an exact time frame as to when the work will be finished, I can tell you that a number of factors will come into play:

  • 3rd party Modifications
  • Custom Modifications
  • 3rd Party skin
  • Custom Skin Modifications

The above will take some time to complete and implement.

I will update this thread as we make progress. In the mean time, please consider this a "work in progress" and continue to share any ideas you may have!

Thanks again!

I'd like to suggest chat rooms, public and private. This would be alot easier for members to talk and meet up rather then wait for their PM replies. I'd like the ability to create/delete a room for my group of members only, this way we can discuss specific pools and such.

When I click "view new content" The contents are from a different time period. Let's say I click it now at 4:15pm, it will list the newest sometimes from like noon and other times since 6am. Since most people look for the newest content, if someone makes a comment 1 hour ago, and someone comes on and hits the new content, it may have reset itself to 59 minutes ago and that last comment is considered too old to list. It's very inconsistent, to me anyways. Is there a way to set it so that it lists the newest content after a 1 or 2 hour period of idleness within a 24 hour period. Then you really are looking at the newest content. Or by default it should begin at 12am and list the days content.

No one will see this as by 6 or 8 pm my comments again will not be considered new content.

not sure if this has been said. how about a section in our own profile that tells us, where and by whom we have been thanked. It might encourage people to be more helpful and gives them intensive to help more.
