My biggest for sure so far, but likely no where near 20! The excitement gets to you haha.
It's a very cool thing to see the fish swimming around at your feet through the clear solid ice.
Pic doesn't do it justice
Release. 8" hole.

wow, you guys sure did do well! The jig you were using is kind of similar to what I started off with just a different head and a white marabou. Cant wait for the weekend!
A lot of different lures work with lakers.
A couple years ago when I first started going after them, I was almost always using tubes. Last year, I got most fish on swammers. This year it's the bucktail. I think I'm going to concentrate on lipless cranks next.
Even though lakers are very visual in their predation, I still think it's your presentation that gets them to commit.
frozenfire what weight rating is your rod you were using medium, medium heavy or heavy action?
It is a 36" medium action St. Croix Premier.
hey did i buy that aurora barrington pin off you.....sweet pics mang nice fish
Nope... not me.
Yeah...generally don't take lake trout home, but had to take a couple back cause they took it too deepSweet lakers man! Judging by your pics they were slamming that bait pretty hard but I bet you were stoked about your stinger hook when you pulled up the fish in pics 3,4, and 7. Nice vid too, hearing that clik...clik...clik..ziiiiiipppp made me miss fishing a little too much for comfort haha! Thanks for sharing.
The stinger is definitely nice to have.
Most times, the laker will snap at your lure and can miss it entirely. It just adds extra insurance... Can mean the difference between a good day and a bad one.
