ya we hit into a few on a crappie hunt this year, it was a heck of a fight on the light tackle.

I have caught a few over the years.

BTW: They are in season in some zones year around & open through 31 Dec. in zone 11.

Seasons the same for both large and smallmouths.

I have caught both through the ice.

no, they swim around and expend energy and feed like every other fish...ya NADO, that was fun, went thru a crack on Simcoe yesterday - not so fun...When are you gonna send me that pic of that big un?

Gotten Largies threw the ice before...seen a smallie once..but when we got the largies we were fishing walleye. After the 4th Largie we decided to move..obv all released...acctualy never kept a bass in my life, only ever tried erie bass when my grandpa fed it to me..

have caught large mouth through the ice before when crappie fishing, Seen a really nice 6 pound smallmouth caught lake trout fishing on Joe one year, in 80FOW
