I fished a local Stormwater Drainage Pond last week for some Sunfish with my Size 0 Mepps Aglia.

It started off as planned with a nice sized Sunfish after about 10 minutes.

After the Sunfish the fishing started to pick up and I landed 4 5-7 inch OOS Bass. They were quickly released and completely unharmed.

The fishing slowed down after that and the rain began to pick up.

I moved to a different spot where I had luck the previous year at it did not dissapoint.

After casting for about 4 minutes and getting some follows from smaller fish I spotted a big fish following my lure. By the looks of it underwater it looked like a female Largemouth that is filling up with eggs because a fish this size is unheard of in this pond.

The lure was 5 feet away from me and the fish was not backing down, it took a quick swipe at my lure and since it was so close I was able to quickly pull it out of the water. It revealed itself to be a huge Black Crappie.

The picture above doesn't do it justice. This one shows that it was a little bigger than my head. And there was no camera trick by putting the fish closer to the lens, I lined the fish up right beside my head for the picture.

I dipped it in the water to give me just a bit more time to weigh it.

She weighed in at 1.4 and a quarter LBS and is a personal best for me by a landslide.

A truly unforgettable experience!

Went out yesterday to Holland landing and got a black Crappie . It weighed 600g(1.32 Lbs) and was a dandy!

Got it on a live minnow. That place was crazy yesterday, no parking anywhere. Way too much garbage on the shore. I did my deed and collected as much as possible.

Was a very slow bite, with bunch of perch and blue gill.

When the weather gets warmer, hope to have more sucess off the shore in canals.

Good luck and keep 'dem lines tight!

I feel like you posted this exact same thread last year. Either way nice crappie. I managed to pull out a pond crappie off a pike minnow fishing for pike. This monster was a joy to reel in!

Most justice I can do for the picture to make you realize how big this fish is, is by telling you my hands are 10 1/2 inches and I weigh in at 274 lbs 6'2.

its a great feeling to pull in a monster pan fish.

when I was 14, I hit a up a small pond by rice lake.

I pulled out a 1.2 lb crappie (pb)

and the largest rockbass Ive ever seen, it weighed in at 2.4 lbs

I got a pic around somewhere. the thing was massive

No, this is the first time I've posted this. I only started posting on this forum this year, but I've been a member for a while.
