Hi everyone. Just wanted to introduce myself. I am a recreational fisherman primarily fishing the Trent Severn River (between the Swift and Big Chute). I have some pretty good success over the years on the river catching 22"-32" Northerns, 2-4lbs Smallies, the odd walleye (i usually fish bass or Northern) and monster catfish right off the dock.

The river adds a few more variables to locating and catching fish. Because the river can get pretty busy with boat traffic, I usually find myself adventuring off in the various channels and small bays.

I'm interested in hearing experiences from other anglers who have fished the river?

Cheers!

Big Chute is an awesome place, used to go there as a kid.  My old man ran away from a rattler in that area   The Trent is a beast, got my biggest walleye at one of the locks.

Welcome to the site, we love photos :)

The Trent Severn is where I first got into fishing when I was 5, catching small sunfish, rock bass, and perch off the docks on a worm and bobber, good memories...now whenever I go I catch the odd pike and bass

I've been fishing the severn river for a few years now, i launch at big chute every time. Ihave to say its my favorite place to fish. Theres at least 8 species ive caught there. The only thing is i cant seem to consistently find the big fish. Its not uncommon to have a 15 fish morning but ive really only ever caught 4-5 trophy sized fish....

Welcome aboard. It looks like most guys catch fish there and I', pleasantly surprised by that. Just fished it once---weather seem perfect, fished weedy bays, rocky shorelines etc. Lot's of places that looked good for bass and pike. My buddy and I just caught 2-3 tiny fish---bass and rock bass. It's quite a nice place so I wouldn't mind going back to give it a second try if it's as good as you folks say.
