Are the salmon coming closer to the mouth of the rivers? I'm debating on a trip to a pier in the SE to test my luck. Is it too early?

Winds are from the east, so dont waste your time. Wait for a few solid days of west winds and hit the pier.

I got my directions mixed up lol. For a south east trib, you want a south wind or a south east wind.

West=west or NW
North shore=north wind, NW, NE, depend on where you are on the north shore.
South=south, SW, SE

I think rain sends them upstream and they become more temperature tolerant as the season progresses. Now might be a good time for some pier action.

I found if you just tip them before you get on the charter generally will lead to better fishing spots and their knowledge will unlock. They deserved it.
