Hey guys,

I was recently working in Napanee for a few weeks, and I thought I'd post a few pictures of what me and my buddy caught. Unfortunately we couldn't get the boat out, so this is all shore fishing.

Also, if anyone can tell me what the fish in bottom picture is of? I caught it under the Centre St bridge in Napanee, on bottom (was hoping to pick up a walleye). Sorry to say the little guy was badly foul hooked and died.

And yes... My buddy here is master of the 'redneck fish pose'... doesn't even realize he's doing it.

I tried... couldn't quite get it.

This was my biggest Pike out there. For all those concerned, the fish was only on the dock long enough for me to take the hook out and snap this pick before it went in the water.

Caught this on the next cast.... go home Pumpkinseed, you're drunk.

This is the odd fish I was talking about. Some sort of cross breed maybe? I was looking on the interwebs afterwards but could find anything like it. Perch-eye maybe?

My guess would be a juvenile perch (mostly because of the dorsal fin and colors).

It does have some neat markings though!

Good variety of fish you have there.  The last little guy is a log perch.

Never even heard of that, but after googling it, no doubt in my mind :P

I see them lots in the smaller, slower flowing rivers when I snorkel in the summer.  They're pretty cool, they stick in small groups between 3 - 8 fish and hug the bottom, not shy at all.

These were all in Napanee ont.. You know.. That place between Belleville and Kingston where Avril lavigne is from? Hope that helps Chevrolet, ha ha. Lol pretty great fishing. There's a shitload of perch in the river so it doesn't surprise me to find out is a sub species! It did look very perch-y, just a little different. Thanks Dozer! Apparently that region is big walleye territory in the spring and fall, so hopefully I'll get back and catch a couple.
