So I managed to take the day off yesterday and GBA and I decided to head to a certain trib. Based on temperatures and weather, we figured we may just get lucky.

On the river by 11am, we hit a few suspicious looking pools, until we saw this:

At around 2:30pm we were thinking about calling it a day, but decided to take a wade upriver. After a good hike, we were thinking of turning around and again, calling it quits. GBA then says to me "It's times like these where we turn a corner, and find a HUGE honeyhole"... We turned the corner, and let's just say we cancelled our lunch plans for the day, and didn't get off of the river until 5pm.

A few shots from the day:

Hope you enjoy the photos!

Cheers,

Cody

We tried dries, Nymphs and a couple wet fly's.

The producing flies of the day were gold bead head wooly buggers in black, purple and orange. Roughly size 8-10.

Though this is probably not needed, remember to revive your salmon catches! It took Madoc and I about 10 minutes before we felt safe letting this guy swim freely in a slow moving, deep pool. We really tired him out and we wanted to make sure 100% that he would be fine.
