Soon you won't fish for anything but Carp after experiencing fights like that.

Well, I've seen way bigger carp in the river than the ones that I hit...so I can only imagine the fight that they would put up! LOL...naw, I could never just go for Carp as I like fish too much and don't think I'd eat one of them (though opinions vary). Though, if I were fishing for Smallies and happened to hit into a Carp or two I don't think I'd say no! LOL!

That is a really cool story.....when I go down to my favourite river to fish, 90% of the time I go to the same section of river because it always produces well for me, and every once in a while, while wading from spot to spot I'll scare these monster fish. Sometimes, they scare the crap out of me. I've always assumed that they're carp, but never actually gotten a visual. Whatever they are, they're huge, and this is in about two feet of water, so you can see which way they're swimming after I scare them. I always walk super slow, so sometimes they'll swim off 2 ft from my legs, with a huge swirl in the water and a massive cloud of mud. Pretty cool, don't know what else they'd be besides carp, bc of their size.

Yep...most likely Carp. Last year while fishing with my son I was using a top water, standing in water up to my thighs...and just as I go to flick it out I happened to look down beside me...and there was a HUGE Carp 2 feet away from me....said it..and just about did it! Had to be at least 3 feet long!
