go by diameter not poundages, best cp lines are between .011" and .009" for mono.

I dropped to 8 from the 10 because I dropped to a lighter rod.. Does anyone run 10 or up, on a rod rated 4-8??

the rating on a rod is your weakest link, not your main line. you can use 45lb braid on a 3-6 rod, as long as your leader is 3lb you will be fine.

I was using 12lbs main with a 6lbs leader up untill end of sept.

Got a new CP. Decided to try 10lbs main. A couple fish in I like it a lot better. The line seems to be "lighter" and the access line above the water line doesnt just seemingly drop into the water. Allows for more natural presentation.
