What spinning reel would be good to pair with a 6'6" ML Berkley Lightning Rod Shock? Currently using a twenty year old Abu Garcia Cardinal 754 with 20# Power Pro Braid.

Very nice equipment! I am considering a Shimano Sahara or Symetre.

I was thinking about the Sedona too, but someone told me the Sahara and Symetre were significantly better.

Sahara over the symetre any day. Just again personal pref. I see many symetre's get returned because of pieces busted or ball bearings go.

I thought they would both be equally reliable since they are both Shimano and within $20 of each other in price.

If they're equal they should be priced the same.

So many recommendations. My short list is down to Shimano Sedona, Sahara, Symetre, Pfluger Supreme, President or Abu Garcia Orra.

Quantum is not high end worthy. They will break on you all day. You don't even have to do anything they will just break themselves lol. I would use the new Ci4 coming out soon. priced around 280 if you have the money. Otherwise stick to some of the abu reels.

Just picked up a Sahara. The Ci4 is too expensive for me. But at $280 for the new one is like a 40% price increase over the old one.
