A friend and I have decided to head out fishing today after work around 5, we cant decide weather to grab our waders and head up river or stay stay at the mouth of what ever tributary we decide to fish.  I live in burlington to give a general idea of my location.  The hard part is deciding if last nights rain fall was enough to get things moving or not.

Anyone have thoughts?

I will report my findings regardles of where we go or what I find

Not sure how much rain fell in burlington, but if the water levels are up, fishing the rivers I think would be pointless. Water would be dirty and moving to fast to catch a good drift. I would stay at the mouth. Better yet wait till the water crests and then head out.

they haave lights for your bobbers--you only need to use a different color than everyone else...you may need a loudspeaker when you yell "fish on"

The water can be cold... depending where you are on the system - I was fishing bone chilling cold headwaters in August yet on the same system near the mouth you can walk in the water and its a comfortable temperature.

Okay so I went out with waders and well I shouldn't have.  As stated by iJay the water was fast moving and looked like chocolate milk I was in Bronte creek for 3 hours with out seeing anything other then other confused fisherman all asking the same questions.  Regardless I do not think of this trip and unsuccessful.  The water was deep in many areas but there was also a few spots that would be very hard for Salmon to get up.  I went in at park off of bronte rd. in oakville and there was no sign of fish suggesting that it is still to early I am looking at this trip as an exploratory expedition that yielded results and well I always enjoy walking in a river anyway.

Yea man, becareful when the water is moving fast. After rainfalls alot of rock become loose at the bottom. I have rolled my ankle a couple of times. when a rock came out from under me.

As many have said before the WEst gets the run after the east. Seeing as the East hasnt got a heavy run for they year, I would be going out west to new spots to just prospect potential pools or spots I would want to fish. Easy access points, parking ect.

The water was so milky that my friend and I stayed pretty close to the bank. I had no idea of telling how deep it was in certain parts so we played it safe and walked on shore for the most part.

As remy said, depending on your reel, you may need a megaphone to yell FISH ON
