Thanks Tossing Iron. I went out today to try it. Wasn't expecting much but managed to hook a small steelhead. Lost it in a logjam but still a good fight. Reel is nice and smooth.

Aha, Looks exactly like mine (except I am using the Siglon line currently) How are you liking the Islander? (Have you used it yet?)

Haha nice. I like the black spool with bright backing. It's nice and smooth and pretty good startup. Only thing i dont like is the clicker, it's so weak I have to hold the spool or put on the case when walking

Yeah you get use to holding it with two fingers (or whatever your preferred method is) Alternatively, you can use an elastic band (inside out around your rod, and then stretch it down to loop your reel handle!

Anyone checked out the Canadian Tire in-store clearance lately? Good prices on outdoors and fishing stuff. I picked up a float tube 70% off and fishfinder about 50% off. Merry Christmas to me :)

I got the last one at my location, you will have to search online if there are any left. It was a cumberland tube.

Lost mine on the river last december, have yet to replace it unfortunately. I had the "one" version but that red will match your lightsaber nicely

I finally got a couple chartreuse/silver J13 Raps I ordered online. The darn things are scarcer than hens teeth in stores! Anyway, got a good deal on eBay and got an orange one as well. Shipping was cheap, too.

buddy suprised me, he was feeling guilty for tipping my canoe while back and we lost my rod/real. was pure accadent so eh whatever but went to fishing show this past weekend and he said he is buying me a rod and real to replace the one lost. he would not take no for a answer. so always yused spinning real before, but wanted ot try bait caster so ended up with a Abu Garcia Silver Max Low Profile real (same he already had as his first and loves it) and a rapala magnum casting rod. Note got 7" casting rod but any i find online are listed as 6 or 6.6. loved the feel of it  so hoping its just a older model.

so spring cant come soon enough as i got some practice on casting to do.
