Lake Joe opens Feb 15th and most years can be fished till Mid-March when the ice get really sh*t-ie.

I am a Local and live 5 min from lake Joe and normal have a hut or 2 out of the ice and would be more then happy to let any member use my hut for a day if they where planning a trip up to fish Lake joe.

Or if any member wanted a local to tag along I would come, just give me a good heads up of when you are planning of coming.

I normal fish 75 to 110 feet of water, with a still line (minnow) and jig a spoon (silver or gold) on my other.

I run 250 to 300 feet of line on my rods (8 to 14 lbs test is fine)

ya, i just enjoy fishing in the winter. Joe is a great lake to fish too, lots of 1 to 3 pounders, my best out of Joe was a 14 pounder caught 3 years ago. 80 feet of water on a gold spoon. Trout had a 14 inch cisco in its guts too

Thanks for the generous offer. I might take up your offer on that. Have heard a lot of good things about it but was not comfortable exploring it on my own as it is a huge body of water and locating the fish would be difficult.

so that they get a chance to spawn, i mean like have you ever seen a laker released while ice fishing on joe? lol, its a good thing, thats why the fishing is so hot there, it doest get any pressure in that time, so on the opener they bite everything, sort of like bass opener.
